About Ned
Hi there! My name is Ned, and I'm a handsome boy with a stunning coat that looks black but shimmers with warm brown tones in the sunshine. I've got adorable white toes, a long nose, and floppy ears that just add to my charm. My slightly grumpy expression is balanced by distinguished white hairs on my chin, giving me a distinguished goatee!
I arrived here from New Mexico with my siblings, Dusty and Lucky, as part of "The Three Amigos!" I'm already potty trained, though sometimes I might have a little accident if I can't hold it – just watch for my signals! I'm a pro at traveling, too. I consider making it through a six-hour car ride an accomplishment! And at night, I'm a champion snuggler, happily sleeping right next to my foster mom – sleeping in bed is a must for me!
I'm a quick learner and already know "sit," "off," and "come." I'm working on "down," "stay," and "wait," and I think training classes would be a blast and a great way for us to bond! I absolutely love to chase anything that rolls, play tug-of-war with unstuffed toys, and go on treat treasure hunts.
When I first arrived, I was a bit mischievous, but I promise I'm improving every day and figuring out how to be a great boy. I still have a tendency to explore the tops of surfaces, but I'm learning what "off" means. My foster mom calls me "Jaws" because I love to show off my teeth and gums when I wrestle with other dogs – it's all in good fun to make myself look tough! She also calls me "Snuffles" because I have to eat from a Snuffle Mat to slow down my eating, and I'm a fast drinker, so my water is rationed. I'm not a fan of the cold, but I do enjoy looking dapper in cute coats! I'm committed to becoming "Nifty Ned" rather than "Naughty Ned."
I have a human foster sister who is 10 years old, and she adores me. I'm friendly with her and her friends, and I try my best to show everyone I'm a good boy, even if I bark and jump a little initially. I haven't met any cats, but I bet I'd be curious to say hello!
I really thrive with other dogs. My foster family has two resident dogs, and I get along with them, though I do tend to be on the submissive side. I absolutely need another dog in my forever home for companionship, comfort, and warmth. I'm not meant to be an only dog!
Ideal Home
I need a family that has time to spend with me. While I understand being alone during the workday is necessary, I'd love lots of playtime, walks, and training when you're home. I also need to sleep in your bed and love to be on the sofa! I really need another dog to live with.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions were mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
I'm working on "down," "stay," and "wait." I still need to be reminded not to jump on surfaces. I'm eager to learn and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement and training classes.
