Junior Bear looks like a perfect blend of a wise old grandpa, a fluffy polar bear cub, and Sid from Ice Age! He came to us in rough shape, looking more like a naked mole rat than the magnificent Great Pyrenees mix he's becoming. Watching his coat grow back and his personality blossom has been truly heartwarming. With his perpetually expressive face, the adorable little tongue that always seems to have something to say, and his shy, gentle nature, Junior Bear is a dog that will quietly steal your heart. He's approximately 6 years old and weighs around 50 lbs, though we can't guarantee exact breed or age with rescues. What we can guarantee is that his unique, hilarious, and lovable expressions will keep you endlessly entertained.
Ideal Home
Junior Bear is a gentle soul who thrives with patience and understanding. He needs a home that will allow him to warm up at his own pace and not overwhelm him with too much too soon. He'd do best with respectful, lower to medium-energy dogs who will give him space to acclimate, and he has also shown to be comfortable around cats. A home with some outdoor space, like a small yard, would be beneficial for him to build confidence.

Training & Support
Junior Bear is more of a slow burn and needs time to feel safe before fully opening up. Baby talk and soft, gentle approaches work wonders! Once he trusts you, he becomes affectionate and cuddly. He's a good boy on leash but can freeze if there's too much pressure, so patience and allowing him to lead at his own pace is key. He is crate trained and quiet in the home.

Junior Bear is currently located at our Texas facility. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system.
