Daisy

This is Daisy. She's a sweet girl who arrived at the shelter on March 19, 2026, found near the train tracks in West Kingston. Daisy was in rough shape when she arrived, very underweight with her ribs and hip bones showing. It appears she may have been used for breeding. She had sores on her joints, possibly from pressure or being kept in an unsanitary environment, and the tip of her tail showed signs of injury. Daisy was initially timid and unsure, but with patience and gentle hand-feeding, she's learning to trust. She has a goofy side and loves to play and receive body scratches! She enjoys treats, but they must be chicken-free.

Ideal Home

Daisy needs a patient and loving home with someone who understands she's been through a lot and will need ongoing support to build confidence and learn about stability and kindness.

Ongoing Health

Daisy has made great progress since arriving at the shelter. She received a complete physical, bloodwork, a stool sample check, rabies vaccination, and was put on antibiotics. She gained significant weight in her first few weeks and received her distemper vaccination. She sunburns easily and will need sunscreen applied to her nose and face. Her sores are healing, and her coat is improving.

Training & Support

Daisy is making progress with her trust and has started playing with toys. She will continue to need patient guidance and positive reinforcement.
