Meet Horacio! This charming Chihuahua mix is about 2-3 years old and weighs around 16 lbs. Horacio's past was tough; he was found abandoned and mistreated. Thankfully, those dark days are long behind him, and he's now discovering the joy of safety, love, and care. Horacio is a gentle and affectionate boy who loves car rides and showering his favorite people with kisses. He has a playful spirit but leans more towards a calm and easygoing nature, making him the perfect companion for those seeking both love and tranquility. He enjoys short bursts of play followed by relaxing with his trusted humans. Despite everything he's been through, Horacio's heart is full of love and gratitude. He's eagerly waiting for a forever home where he'll only know kindness and affection.
Ideal Home
Horacio would thrive in a home with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard with tall fencing. He needs a family that truly intends to rescue and is open to understanding the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, especially those needing protection and education. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, or a willingness to hire a trainer to help this intelligent dog reach his full potential. Patience and high tolerance are crucial for this rescued pup.
Ongoing Health
Horacio has received a spay/neuter certificate, two DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, a Bordetella vaccine, has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. He also has a 4DX test and certificate and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He comes with a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Horacio is not house-trained, and it's important to understand that rescued dogs may need an adjustment period. Patience, understanding, and establishing a consistent routine with clear boundaries will be key to building trust and strengthening your bond.
