Leif is a brilliant, brave, snuggly, and soulful 2-year-old mixed-breed male weighing 56 pounds. He is affectionate, silly, socially fluent, and forms meaningful bonds with people. Leif is relaxed at home and enjoys moderate intellectual engagement, including sniffy walks, training sessions, puzzle toys, and structured interaction.

Leif would thrive with a dog-savvy adopter who enjoys training and engagement, along with one or more friendly dogs of similar energy. An adult-only home is preferred; older children may be considered. He would do best with someone who appreciates a calm dog with an active mind.

Leif is crate-trained, house-trained, leash-trained, and trick-trained. He has excelled in holiday manners and obedience training, is highly handler-motivated, and enjoys learning new cues. He has made enormous progress with mouthiness through structure, training, and periodic decompression.

Leif is extremely dog-social, reads other dogs well, takes cues appropriately, and adjusts his behavior with ease. He is relaxed and low-energy in the home while remaining eager for thoughtful mental engagement.
