Zac is a handsome 5-year-old, neutered male Anatolian Shepherd mix weighing around 60 pounds. He was rescued from a local shelter and has since undergone FHO surgery on a back leg due to a previous injury. This surgery has helped him heal and he no longer requires any medical intervention or medication. Zac is the epitome of a loyal companion, possessing a wonderful balance of playful energy and a desire for cuddles. He enjoys spending time with other dogs, is house-trained and crate-trained, and loves being near his people for relaxation and affection. Zac is also quite the conversationalist, especially when he thinks dinner is running late, and has a charming, vocal personality that is sure to bring smiles. He has done well meeting new people and is getting more comfortable with car rides. He enjoys toys, loves treats, and shows no signs of resource guarding.
Ideal Home
Zac would thrive in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He seems happiest when he has another dog around or people nearby to share his life with. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he would do well with a family committed to teaching him not to jump up when excited.
Ongoing Health
Zac has fully recovered from his FHO surgery and requires no further medical attention or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. He is generally calm on walks and respectful of other dogs. His foster notes he may need continued guidance on not jumping up when excited, especially with new people.
