Nerra

Nerra is an older, active, and affectionate girl who was surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. She enjoys being close to her people and has a cuddly side, especially at night, but she is still learning how to feel safe and comfortable in the world around her. She is a smart dog with a medium energy level who enjoys routines like daily walks and time spent with her people. Nerra's favorite place is wherever her people are, especially if that means she gets to curl up and cuddle at the end of the day. She is already spayed.

Ideal Home

Nerra would do best in an adult-only home where she can settle at her own pace. She is looking for a calm, structured environment with someone who understands she may need time to adjust and feel secure. Due to her reported reactivity and handling sensitivities, an adult-only home is recommended for Nerra at this time. Nerra has shown strong reactions to other dogs and cats on walks, including lunging and vocalizing, and can become distressed when smelling other dogs in the home. Because of this, she would do best as the only pet in the home.

Nerra is a healthy, spayed 10-year-old, 45lb black dog.

Training & Support

Nerra knows several cues including sit, come, down, paw, and more, which can be a great foundation for continued positive reinforcement training. She can pull on leash and react to other animals and strangers, so she will need patient handling, slow introductions, and ongoing training using only force-free, reward-based methods. She is crate trained and generally does well in structured environments, but she can become reactive when restrained or when her paws are handled, so respectful, choice-based care is important.
