Shelby is a 6-month-old, spayed female Shepherd/Hound/Terrier mix, currently weighing 39 pounds. She's expected to be a large dog when fully grown, with a distinctively long body. Shelby is a bundle of joy, a happy, goofy, and affectionate puppy with a playful spirit who brings warmth and delight into every room. She's curious about the world, eager to learn, and deeply bonded with her people. Shelby and her mom and sister were rescued from a shelter in San Antonio, Texas, after spending 40 days there. She has truly blossomed in her foster home and is now ready to find her forever family!

Training & Support
Shelby is still learning and needs continued basic training. She has learned to sit, walks nicely on a harness, and plays appropriately with toys and bones. She's making great progress with house training and is expected to master it quickly with consistency. While she tolerates crating, she prefers to be near her people and other dogs. She may bark briefly when crated during the day but will settle. Excessive crating should be avoided as she is social and happiest when included in daily life. Shelby would benefit from a slow feeder for meals. Any mild growling has only occurred with her sister and appears related to puppy competition for attention rather than true resource guarding.

Transporation
Shelby is currently in a foster home in Washougal, Washington, and is available for meet-and-greets. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be on the next available transport once approved. Transport is included in the adoption donation.
