Luna is a sweet, friendly, and incredibly affectionate 11/2-year-old, 80-pound "velcro dog" who loves being close to her people and will happily follow you from room to room. She enjoys meeting new adults and is eager to find her forever family!
Ideal Home
Luna would thrive in a home where she can be included in everyday activities. She has been tested with a 5-year-old foster brother and has reportedly done well with most other dogs. She is still learning how to adjust her play style with smaller dogs and can sometimes be a little heavy-handed, but her intentions are always playful. Her previous owner reported she did well with cats, but in her foster home, she has barked at the resident cat, so her long-term compatibility with cats is still unknown. She hasn't yet been tested with young children, but based on her friendly temperament, she would likely do best with older kids who can handle her size and playful enthusiasm.
Ongoing Health
Luna is a healthy young dog.
Training & Support
Like many young, enthusiastic dogs, Luna gets excited when greeting new people and is working on keeping all four paws on the floor. At 80 pounds, her happy welcomes can be a bit enthusiastic, but she's eager to learn and is making progress with her manners. She is currently working on crate training and building confidence when left alone, as she does experience some separation anxiety. She isn't especially food-motivated, but she loves a stuffed Kong or a durable Nylabone to keep her occupied. House training has been excellent, and she clearly understands that potty time happens outside. She already knows "sit" and "come," and she's currently working on "leave it" and "stay."
