Lena is a seven-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix with a heart full of devotion and a beautiful brown coat with white accents. At 55 pounds, she's the kind of companion who believes life is better shared with her favorite people! Lena adores cozy movie nights, long walks, sunny afternoons, and playful adventures. When the day winds down, she's happiest right beside the people she trusts, offering all the affection her big heart can hold. She can be playful, chasing a ball or enjoying a favorite toy, and then transform into an oversized lap dog who just wants to relax with you. Family friends who earn her trust will discover how affectionate and loyal she can be.
Ideal Home
Lena needs an adult-only home with experienced pet parents who understand resource guarding and dog reactivity. She must be the only pet in the household, as she needs to relax without the stress of sharing space or valued resources with other animals. Lena can be cautious with some unfamiliar people and may take time to build trust.
Ongoing Health
Lena takes a daily allergy medication. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Lena is house-trained and crate-trained. She has completed formal obedience training and knows commands such as sit, stay, leave it, down, free, and here/touch. Lena has a history of resource guarding around food, treats, toys, and other high-value items, as well as conflicts with other dogs. Her caregivers have worked extensively to support her through professional training, behavior management strategies, structured routines, and careful supervision. Her future family should be committed to continuing thoughtful management and positive reinforcement practices to help her feel secure and safe.
