Atlas, also known as Doby, is a 1-year-old Doberman who came to us under difficult circumstances. He was found without much information, but we know he previously lived with other dogs and children. Atlas is a very scared and uncertain boy who is struggling to adjust to his new life. He needs a patient and understanding family who can help him feel safe. He's not a dog who will warm up to strangers instantly, and he'll need time to settle into a new home.
Ideal Home
Atlas is looking for an experienced, dog-savvy home that understands the challenges of helping a dog with a difficult past. His future family must be willing to go at his pace, build trust through consistency, and provide the structure and support he needs to gain confidence. Because of his fear and uncertainty, Atlas will require a secure physical fence. A tall privacy fence or a very tall chain-link fence is non-negotiable. He is not a candidate for an invisible fence, tie-out, or an unfenced property. He has lived with children ages 1 year to 9 years and two other dogs, a small Yorkie and a large lab.
Ongoing Health
Dobermans are prone to certain health issues. Adopters should be financially prepared for potential veterinary expenses and consider pet insurance.
Training & Support
Atlas is a scared and uncertain boy who needs time, patience, and understanding as he learns that he is safe. He needs a home that will help him build confidence and trust. He loves other dogs and thrives when playing with them.
