Bean

Bean is a handsome, 8-year-old Shih Tzu/poodle mix looking for his forever home. He was surrendered by his owners who did not treat his cataracts, resulting in him being blind. Bean has adjusted wonderfully to his blindness and navigates his foster home with ease, even managing stairs with guidance. He loves his walks, only needing a little help at curbs, and has learned to get along well with other dogs in his foster home, though he needs time to meet new dogs and people due to his vision impairment. Bean is a sweet and docile boy once he trusts you, enjoying being close to his people and cuddling.

Ideal Home

Bean would do best in a home with someone who has time to work on his separation anxiety, ideally a house where noise complaints are not a concern. He may benefit from a canine companion to ease his anxiety when left alone. A home without young children is preferred. He would love an active person or couple who understands his special needs and is willing to be patient with him as he adjusts.

Ongoing Health

Bean is blind due to untreated cataracts. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines.

Training & Support

Bean needs time to adjust to new dogs and people; introductions should be slow and patient. Quick movements or being picked up by strangers can be frightening to him. He needs guidance on stairs to prevent falls. He suffers from separation anxiety and will need support in this area.
