¡Ándale! ¡Ándale! That's what you'll be saying to get ready for Diego, a dog who knows Speedy Gonzales! We suspect Diego is bilingual and understands "Come on, Come on, Hurry Up, Let's Go!"
Diego was found wandering in Houston, along a dangerously busy road, without a collar or microchip. A kind soul kept him for weeks, trying to find his owner before seeking a rescue. He has since been neutered, vaccinated, and has completed his heartworm treatment, making him ready for his forever home! Diego is crate trained, which serves as his "off" button. He enjoys car rides and meeting new people, generally remaining quiet and observant. He thrives with opportunities to run at full speed, whether in circles or zigzags, before settling down. He has a good balance of needing both physical and mental stimulation.
Ideal Home
Diego has been fostered with dogs of all sizes and personalities, showing himself to be a playful dog who avoids conflict. He enjoys running at high speeds and would love to have another dog to play with. He would benefit from a yard and a family familiar with the higher energy of the Doberman breed. Absolutely no cats for Diego, as he has a strong prey drive for smaller critters and will chase squirrels.
Ongoing Health
Diego's ears have scars along the cropped edges, suggesting frequent infections during attempts to heal or while wrapped. While these scars do not cause him discomfort or require care now, they are a part of his history.
Training & Support
Diego is crate trained, which is his "off" button. He needs opportunities to run at full speed to expend his energy.
