Meet Frankie, a gentle soul with a big heart who is ready for his second chance! This handsome 2.5-year-old, 70-pound neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull mix is currently enjoying life in a foster home in Austin, Texas. Frankie is a quiet, tender-hearted pup. He may seem shy and reserved at first, but once he feels safe, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through. He isn't demanding of attention; instead, he quietly seeks comfort by simply being near someone he trusts.
Ideal Home
Frankie would thrive in a quiet household with a predictable routine that will help him continue to gain confidence. Given his gentle nature, his foster believes he would do well in a home with older kids who understand how to respect his boundaries. A securely fenced yard is a must, as Frankie is an escape artist who has been known to climb chain link or chicken wire fencing. He needs a home with secure fencing and supervision outdoors.
Ongoing Health
Frankie has no known health conditions to be aware of at this time.
Training & Support
Frankie is still a bit green on leash and is afraid of it, sometimes freezing or "pancaking." He is learning to wait his turn for treats and already understands simple cues like "no" and "food." He has been house-trained beautifully, with no accidents indoors. He also does fine when left alone with free reign of a room. Frankie finds doorways and thresholds intimidating sometimes, but this is happening less often as he gains confidence.
