Some dogs are born to be royalty, and Barkus Aurelius certainly got the memo! Affectionately known as Aurelio, this handsome 4-month-old Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix may have an emperor's name, but underneath it all is a goofy, affectionate puppy who's simply looking for his forever kingdom! Dressed in a stunning creamy tan coat and sporting the most mesmerizing icy blue eyes, Aurelio has the looks that stop people in their tracks. His soulful gaze, floppy ears, and sweet puppy face make it nearly impossible not to fall in love at first sight! As the only boy in his litter of three, Aurelio is every bit the lovable little gentleman. He's happiest when he's with his people, whether he's wrestling with his sisters, soaking up belly rubs, or climbing into your lap for a cuddle. He's the kind of puppy who's simply happy to be included in whatever adventure the day brings!
Ideal Home
Aurelio is friendly and affectionate but is still working on not jumping when he gets excited. He hasn't been introduced to cats or young children yet, so slow, supervised introductions would be recommended.

Training & Support
Like his sisters, Aurelio thrives on a structured routine. His days include 2-3 meals, play sessions, crate time, potty training, naps, and plenty of opportunities to learn. He was introduced to basic commands like "lay," "stay," and "paw" during his content session and picked them up remarkably fast. He's incredibly food motivated, making training both rewarding and fun for everyone involved! He's currently making wonderful progress with crate training and potty training, while also learning patience and impulse control during meal times. Like any young puppy, he'll continue to blossom with consistency, positive reinforcement, and lots of encouragement. He lives with an older 7-year-old Staffordshire mix who isn't always interested in puppy antics, but Aurelio is learning that not every dog wants to wrestle, a valuable lesson for a growing pup! Like every puppy, Aurelio will need patience, consistency, routine, and plenty of love as he grows into adulthood.

Transporation
Aurelio is located in Texas and can be transported to a variety of locations nationwide through our rescue's USDA certified transport system. Available drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
