Meet Aurora!

Aurora, or Rory as her humans call her, is a young, energetic pup who is looking for an active family to call her own. She's estimated to be just over a year old and absolutely loves to play and wrestle with her dog friends. While she enjoys a good snuggle session, her favorite thing is to run and play with her canine companions. Rory was previously adopted, but her boundless energy and need for an active lifestyle were a bit too much for her former family. Her energy sometimes leads to jumping on people, a habit her current caregivers are working on, and she'll likely need continued guidance in her new home. She was also known to chew things when she had pent-up energy and could get out of fences. She's doing well in her foster home with a secure fence, as she's never left alone there.

Ideal Home

Rory would thrive in a very active home with at least one other playful dog. She might do well with older children who understand she can be jumpy when excited. She previously showed curiosity towards cats and may be able to live with them after a re-test. She needs a home with a secure fence to prevent escape.

Ongoing Health

Aurora is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Rory is house-trained and kennel-trained, and she knows some basic commands. She does have a habit of jumping on people, which is being addressed, and she will need continued training to manage this. She will also need help with leash manners, but she's a smart cookie and should pick it up quickly. She can be a bit protective of her kennel space and her toys/treats when other dogs are around, but she's happy to share when food is scattered or when playing with toys in a more open setting.
