Comet is a 3-year-old, 56-pound, neutered male, hound/retriever mix who is ready to find his forever family! Comet was rescued from the streets and then saved from the county shelter in San Antonio. He's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to cuddle and is happiest when he's by your side. Comet has a resilient and adaptable spirit and is eager to please, making him a joy to train.
Ideal Home
Comet would be happiest in a home with a canine sibling to play and snuggle with, as he has a good relationship with the resident female dog in his foster home. He has also done well with indoor cats and children. Due to a slight herding instinct, we recommend a home with children aged 10 years or older who can understand and respect animal behavior cues. Comet is a bit wary of men, but with patience and consistency, he will come around, as he has bonded beautifully with his foster dad.
Ongoing Health
Comet is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health concerns.
Training & Support
Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his crate without issue and doesn't pull on the leash. He has had no accidents in the house since being in his foster home and will let you know when he needs to go outside. Comet does not appear to have separation anxiety, but he is crated when unsupervised because he enjoys tasting things he shouldn't. He is easy to train and responds well to positive reinforcement.
