Hi there, my name is Willy! I'm a handsome boy, about 4-5 years old and weighing around 55 lbs. I came to the shelter as a stray and it was clear I hadn't been taken care of very well. I had a flea infestation, flea allergy dermatitis, ear infections, and was quite thin. But don't let my past fool you, I'm a very sweet and nice boy with everyone I meet! I was even a good boy for my bath, only trying to escape the tub a couple of times. The staff here say I'm the nicest Akita they've ever met, and I think they might be right! I've gotten along well with other dogs here, but I would still need to meet any potential canine siblings to make sure we're a good fit. I don't seem to have a lot of house manners and I'm not potty trained, so I'll need a patient family to help me learn the ropes. If you're looking for a sweet companion, please consider giving me a loving home!
Ideal Home
A breed-savvy family who understands the needs of an Akita. I'll need a patient home that can help me learn basic manners and potty training.
Ongoing Health
I was treated for a flea infestation, flea allergy dermatitis, and ear infections. I was also very thin upon arrival but have since gained weight.
Training & Support
I'll need guidance with house manners and potty training. Patience and consistent training will be key to my success.
