About Mylo

Meet Mylo – a 4-year-old, neutered, 44-pound Cattle Dog mix with a tongue that just can’t be tamed and a heart that’s even bigger. Mylo is a silly, affectionate, and curious boy who loves to play and explore. His tongue is a little too long for his mouth and is almost always peeking out, which has been vet-checked and is not a cause for concern. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage, another unique feature that makes him special. Mylo thrives with daily activity, enjoys long walks, and loves a good romp in the yard. He plays well with dogs of all sizes and is vocal when playing or excited, making a variety of charming noises. He's friendly and well-mannered when meeting new dogs, though he might sound intense at first. He has shown some interest in chasing cats, so a feline-free home is best. Mylo has done well with children of various ages, but due to his occasional jumping and enthusiasm, a home with older kids (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an active dog is recommended. He is fully house-trained and has been trusted to stay loose when unsupervised. Mylo is playful, cuddly, and incredibly affectionate with his people, greeting his foster family with enthusiastic hops and playful vocalizations. He is smart and responsive to redirection, loves praise, and thrives on routine and clear communication. He may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects, so a patient home that lets him settle in at his own pace will help him feel his best.

Ideal Home

Mylo is hoping for a moderately active family with a yard or access to one where he can run, sniff, and sunbathe. He would benefit from a few good walks a day or fetch sessions to burn energy. He would do best in a home with older kids (10+) and would appreciate a friendly dog buddy or two. A home that embraces his quirky personality and celebrates his uniqueness is ideal.

Ongoing Health

Mylo has a tongue that is a little too long for his mouth, which has been vet-checked and does not cause him pain, but he may occasionally need a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage, which is not a cause for concern.

Training & Support

Mylo is working on improving his manners, specifically with jumping and treat-taking. He can pull on the leash when excited, so a no-pull harness or Gentle Leader may help make walks more enjoyable. A patient home that understands his background and allows him to settle in at his own pace will help him feel his best.
