Nopal

Hi there! I'm Nopal, a gentle, thoughtful, and incredibly sweet boy from the Vivero litter. My five siblings and I were found at a plant nursery, which is how we got our plant-inspired names. Even though we started life under a pile of wood and trash, our brave mom did her best to protect us, despite being thin and injured. Thankfully, Surfers for Strays came to our rescue, providing much-needed food, medicine, and care for our mom and us pups, including sterilization. Now, I'm growing into a confident and loving dog. I politely greet new people and adore spending time with dogs of all sizes.

Ideal Home

I'm a sensitive boy who thrives in a home that understands gentle dogs. I do best when allowed to set the pace, so please avoid forced affection or direct staring, especially initially. A family that respects my space and allows trust to grow naturally will help me truly blossom into the confident, happy boy I'm meant to be. I've also done wonderfully with young children (ages 1-6) in my foster home, showing a playful and gentle nature.

I received medical care and was sterilized.

Training & Support

I'm crate trained, sleep soundly in my "safe space" overnight, and am fully potty trained. I've mastered using a doggy door and haven't had any accidents in the house! I listen well and genuinely want to do the right thing. I walk nicely on leash and have gained confidence exploring new environments.
