Pumpkin Lumpkin is a magnificent two-year-old coonhound mix with a personality as sweet as melted marshmallow. Her most striking feature is her incredibly long, dramatic ears that have a personality all their own! Pumpkin's favorite pastime is comfort, whether it's a plush couch, a soft dog bed, or simply lounging in a sunny spot. She's a low-maintenance lady who walks beautifully on leash and enjoys peaceful strolls and naps. Pumpkin is exceptionally tolerant and affectionate with people, greeting everyone with gentle enthusiasm and melting into love once she feels comfortable. She's a polite and unproblematic companion to other dogs, preferring a calm coexistence over rowdy play. She has also done well with calm, dog-savvy cats who respect boundaries, and we believe she could be a wonderful family dog, though she hasn't been officially tested with children yet. Pumpkin could potentially do well in an apartment, but due to occasional vocalizations, a home with a yard or a more hound-friendly living situation might be ideal. She's currently on a wellness journey to manage her weight, which means she can get tired quickly, but she remains a happy and easygoing girl.
Ideal Home
A home that appreciates a slower pace of life, with soft furnishings, leisurely walks, and humans who adore giant floppy ears. She would also benefit from a trainer-recommended portion control for snacks.

Pumpkin is currently working on managing her weight, which can cause her to tire more quickly.
Training & Support
Pumpkin is described as incredibly easy and sweet with wonderful manners in the home. She walks beautifully on leash. While she is not demanding, she can occasionally get a little vocal about her opinions.

Pumpkin is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide through our rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A transportation surcharge of $87 applies.
