Romeo
Australian Shepherd
At a glance
A little about them
Romeo is a special senior Mini Aussie who spent his life with a breeder and is now learning how to be a real dog. This gentle, timid 10-year-old has made wonderful progress and is looking for a patient, understanding forever home where he can build trust at his own pace.
Romeo is a lovely-natured, easy-going gentleman who enjoys belly rubs, staying close to his people, and relaxing nearby. He is smart, polite, willing to learn, agile, and especially playful in the morning. He may also respond to the name “Splodge.”
Ideal Home
- A quiet home, ideally outside the city, away from crowds and loud noises
- A home with another dog; Romeo finds comfort in having a canine companion and must live with another dog
- Patient adopters who will give him time to adjust to new people and surroundings
- Older, respectful children may be suitable, but he is not a match for a home with young children
- A cat-friendly home may be suitable
Ongoing Health
Romeo is healthy for his age as far as known. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated against DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies, and was treated with dewormer upon intake. After some tummy upset, he has been doing well on Hill’s Science Biome, an easy-to-digest diet. Adopters should be prepared for senior care, including regular veterinary visits, senior bloodwork, and a post-adoption dental.
