Oscar is a sweet young Labrador mix, approximately 1 year old and weighing 32 lbs, with a big heart and a joyful spirit. He is very social with children, men, and women, building trust almost instantly with everyone he meets. Oscar loves being around people and enjoys spending time with other dogs. Playtime is one of his favorite things, and his friendly personality makes him an easy dog to fall in love with. Oscar has a small neurological tic due to distemper, noticeable when he is resting, but it does not affect his happy life or his loving nature. He is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip if adopted!
Ideal Home
Oscar would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog and an understanding of the needs of rescued street animals. Experience with dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly desired. He also requires a family with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies.
Ongoing Health
Oscar has a small neurological tic due to distemper, which is noticeable when he is resting. This condition does not affect his happy life or loving nature. He has received a comprehensive health protocol including spay/neuter, multiple vaccinations (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and monthly preventive protection (Nexgard Spectra). He also comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Oscar is not house-trained and will require significant patience and understanding during his adjustment period. It's essential to recognize that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and need time to adapt to new environments and people. Providing a safe and loving environment, establishing a routine, and setting clear boundaries will help him feel secure.

- If it's a match, we'll call or video chat, introduce you to the pet, and take a virtual home tour.
- We'll speak with 1–2 of your references.
- If approved, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, food, and more.
Transportation
Oscar is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. Door-to-door delivery is available through scheduled trips (3-4 times per year) with a partnered transport company. A transport fee of $400 USD covers the journey from Mexico to your home. This process includes comprehensive paperwork, cross-border transport, and real-time updates throughout the journey. A final home review will be conducted upon delivery.
