Meet Theo, a handsome 2-year-old, 47lb gentleman with a heart of gold! Theo's past is a bit of a mystery, but it's clear he's overcome challenges and emerged as one of the sweetest, most gentle souls you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. He's not much of a barker and takes treats with a delicate touch, showing his quiet and considerate nature. Theo is also comfortably crate trained, viewing his crate as a safe and secure den.
Ideal Home
Theo is looking for a patient and understanding family who can help him build confidence and navigate the world at his own pace. A calm home environment is key, and he absolutely thrives with another confident, friendly dog companion. This canine friend will be instrumental in showing Theo the ropes, helping him feel safe, and encouraging him to come out of his shell to play and show his joyful side. He has experience with older children (7+) and does well when they are gentle, respectful, and give him space. Theo needs a home where everyone understands and honors his need for affection on his own terms. While he's indifferent to chickens, he does find squirrels a bit too exciting, so a securely fenced yard would be beneficial.
Ongoing Health
Theo has undergone thorough veterinary examinations, received all routine annual vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), a heartworm test, fecal test, deworming, microchip, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and has been spayed/neutered. He was quarantined for two weeks post-arrival to ensure his health. Any potential adopters should be aware that dogs treated for heartworm may test positive for up to 4-6 months post-treatment. Ongoing veterinary care is the adopter's responsibility after adoption.
Training & Support
Theo is already crate trained. His new family will need to commit to working with a behavioral trainer to help him blossom. Patience and understanding are paramount as he continues to build confidence in his new environment.
