About Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, neutered male hound/retriever mix weighing 56 pounds. He's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to cuddle and be by your side. Comet was rescued from the streets and found his way to our foster program, where he's been thriving. He has a moderate energy level and enjoys a good zoomie session, but he's also happy to relax with his people. Comet's favorite thing is to please, making him a joy to train. He's a resilient and adaptable dog who's just waiting for his forever family.

Ideal Home

Comet would love a home with another dog to share his days with, as he enjoys having a canine sibling to play and snuggle with. He's also done well with indoor cats and children, though we recommend a home with children aged 10 and up, or those who can understand and respect an animal's cues.

Ongoing Health

Comet is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health concerns.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep and walks politely on a leash without pulling. He reliably alerts his humans when he needs to go outside. While he doesn't seem to have separation anxiety, he does enjoy tasting things, so he should be crated when unsupervised. Comet can be a little wary of men initially, but with patience and consistency, he warms up wonderfully, especially since he adores his foster dad!
