Meet Nola, a stunning Bluetick Coonhound with a story of strength and resilience. For nearly a month, Nola bravely wandered the north side of Bucerias, traveling the beach and relying on the kindness of strangers for food. As she grew thinner and weaker, it became clear she needed urgent help. Dedicated volunteers searched for her day after day until one morning, they found her resting on the sand. She arrived underweight, anemic, and battling Ehrlichia. Later, she was diagnosed with TVT, a treatable cancer. After a course of antibiotics, vaccines, and a full round of chemotherapy, this brave girl is now healthy, healed, and ready to find her forever home. Nola is a sweet, resilient dog who is incredibly grateful for affection. She is great on the leash and loves her walks. As a typical Coonhound, she will bay and howl, so be prepared for her distinctive voice! Nola survived because people cared, and now she deserves a family who will love her for the incredible dog she is.

Transportation
Nola is located near Bucerias, Mexico. Approved adopters are matched with flight companions (flight angels) traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet them at the airport to welcome your new pup home. During the summer months, it can be challenging to secure Canadian flight angels, so dogs may need to fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border if a Canadian flight angel is unavailable. We have successfully completed many adoptions over the summer with volunteers helping to bring dogs to their adopters at the border. This remains a great option to keep adoptions moving forward.
