Gina

Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb spayed female Belgian Malinois mix who was found as a tiny puppy abandoned in a cardboard box by a busy road. Despite her rough start, Gina is now in a loving foster home and ready to find her forever family!

Ideal Home

Gina would thrive in an active home with someone who will play with her daily. She would do best with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up) as she can be jumpy when excited and is unaware of her size. She would also be a great companion for a couple or an individual. Gina enjoys the company of other dogs and currently lives happily with both small (under 15 lbs) and large (over 75 lbs) dogs. She is a bit too enthusiastic about neighborhood cats, so a cat-free home is recommended.

Gina is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed.

Training & Support

Gina is crate trained and is working on her house training, doing well with no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks nicely on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. Gina loves toys and has learned to play fetch, but she is in her "puppy velociraptor stage" and will need guidance on appropriate chew toys. She prefers to eat her treats alone. Due to her past experiences, slow introductions to new dogs are recommended, as she can be apprehensive and bark at larger dogs she doesn't know. Her adopters should be prepared to provide regular socialization, positive training, and plenty of outlets for exercise, play, and enrichment.
