Meet Crieve!
This handsome Yellow “English Style” Labrador Retriever is estimated to be between 2 and 3 years old and is ready to find a patient, loving family to call his own. Like many rescue dogs, he’s still learning that the world is a safe place, and every day he continues to make wonderful progress. Crieve is an intelligent, energetic young Lab who enjoys exercise, attention, and spending time with his people. He is crate trained and settles quietly in his crate all night long, making him an easy house guest. He’s also working hard on his leash manners and is learning to walk politely without pulling. He loves to be near his humans and loves to play. He is super smart and learns things quickly. He likes water but doesn’t make a huge mess of his water bowls. He also loves big sticks and loves to carry them around. He does have a large, loud, deep bark, but we think it’s more of an alert and he quickly quiets down when asked.
Ideal Home
Crieve will need a large fenced yard and lots of exercise. He will not do well in a small yard or apartment. We recommend a home with children 12 years and older, or younger children who have experience interacting with large, energetic dogs.
Ongoing Health
Crieve has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He received a ProHeart 12 Injection and is maintained on monthly flea/tick preventatives.
Training & Support
Because of his past, Crieve can be a little sensitive about having his face and head handled, but he has shown steady improvement as he learns to trust. He responds well to patient, positive guidance and will thrive with an adopter who understands that building confidence takes time. He already knows basic commands but may respond better to commands in Spanish. We are still evaluating how he does with other animals. He is learning appropriate social skills with other dogs, but at this time we believe he may need very slow, gradual, and positive introductions to other dogs. We do not know how he will respond to cats. What Crieve needs most is a family willing to continue the training and confidence-building he’s already started.

Transportation
