Colonel Sanders

Colonel Sanders is a charming 3-year-old fellow who was found as a stray near a chicken coop, which is how he got his distinguished name! He's a medium-energy dog who is learning to trust and enjoy human affection. He’s a quick learner, taking cues from his foster siblings and following their lead. Sanders enjoys car rides and will happily potty on a leash. He's also crate-trained, although he'll voice his initial disapproval before settling down. Sanders is housetrained but still learning to signal when he needs to go out, so he benefits from frequent potty breaks.

Ideal Home

Sanders would thrive in a home with another dog to show him the ropes, as he really looks to his canine companions for guidance. He needs a securely fenced yard.

Ongoing Health

Sanders is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Sanders is housetrained but occasionally has accidents as he learns to communicate his needs. He is crate-trained but may vocalize when first put in his crate. He walks well on a leash and benefits from a harness. Patience and understanding will help him continue to build his confidence.
