Meet Rusty, a gentle and playful 2-year-old, 50-pound Cattle Dog mix who is making wonderful progress. Though he can be shy with new people and unfamiliar environments, Rusty responds with avoidance rather than aggression and blossoms with patience and positive reinforcement. Once he trusts you, his goofy, loving personality shines through.
Ideal Home
Rusty enjoys playing with other dogs and would especially appreciate a confident dog friend to help show him the ropes. He does well with dogs and cats and would do best with older, dog-savvy children who can give him time to warm up. An active but patient home that lets him settle in at his own pace would help him thrive.
He enjoys puzzle toys, chew toys, chicken treats, and the occasional Squishmallow. His medium energy makes him a fun companion for an appropriately active household.
