Odie is a calm, affectionate doodle with a heart of gold. He’s an “old soul” who prefers cuddles and companionship over chaos, and he’s ready to find a loving forever home. Born in January 2018, he is neutered and up-to-date on his rabies vaccination. Odie is house-trained and crate-trained, and he prefers sleeping in his kennel. He is laid-back, loving, and very people-oriented, enjoying being close to his humans for pets and relaxation. He especially loves cold weather and will happily lounge outside in the snow. While not a big toy dog, he will play and chase another dog. Odie is excellent with children of all ages and is gentle enough that a toddler can be near his food while he eats, showing no food aggression. He is also cat-friendly. Odie is not dog-aggressive, despite having a rough start in life and being attacked by other dogs as a puppy. He may bark at dogs through a fence, but once the fence is gone, he’s calm and non-reactive. He will alert bark if someone or another dog is outside. Odie loves walks and will bring you his leash when he wants one. He is leash-trained, doing best with a vest, and enjoys swimming. He knows commands such as sit, lay, paw, and kennel up, and can wait to eat until told (“hold” / “take”). He is not a digger and has never jumped fences or gates.
Ideal Home
Odie thrives with people who appreciate his calm, cuddly nature. He is great with kids and cats. A fenced yard or consistent leashing is recommended, as he can be a runner if he gets loose, though he hasn’t done so in years.
