A little about them
Pretzel is a big, lovable brindle boy with wonderfully mismatched ears, an adorable head tilt, and a happy, wiggly personality. At around 1–2 years old and approximately 72 pounds, he is still very much a puppy at heart and is eager to learn.
Pretzel is affectionate, people-oriented, responsive, and food motivated. He frequently checks in with his handler, leans in for connection, and looks to his person for guidance. He already knows how to sit and wants to do the right thing.
Ideal Home
Pretzel can coexist with other dogs but is still learning canine boundaries and may be pushy during interactions. He would do best with a medium-energy dog who can tolerate his learning curve and model appropriate play. He has shown promising signs with cats, including approaching curiously and disengaging; a Kitty Committee Sleepover can provide a more thorough introduction. He has been reported as good with children under eight.
Ongoing Health
Pretzel’s adoption fee includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, rabies vaccination, deworming, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable, spay/neuter, microchipping with free lifetime registration, and a travel health certificate. A heartworm test and treatment, if needed, are also included.
Training & Support
Pretzel can occasionally jump up and become gently mouthy when excited. Consistent structure, redirection, and follow-through will help him develop better manners. He is strong and enthusiastic on leash, especially around new dogs, but checks in and walks more calmly with guidance. His food motivation should make continued training effective and fun. The rescue provides individualized behavior support, including crate training, potty training, and leash-walking preparation, along with adopter training resources.
