A little about them
Cricket is a friendly, affectionate 3-year-old Labrador Retriever/Cattle Dog mix who weighs 60 pounds and is fully grown. She is an adaptable, medium-energy “active couch potato” who enjoys hiking, nature walks, car rides, fetch, and time relaxing beside her people. She is sweet, smart, gentle, quiet, and affectionate, with a wonderfully laid-back personality.
Cricket loves meeting people and politely offers her paw for treats. She is calm while her foster family works, happily relaxing with a bone, stuffed Kong, or nap. After adventures, she enjoys movie nights, cuddles, and lounging on her dog bed.
Ideal Home
Cricket needs 1–2 hours of daily exercise and would enjoy longer weekend adventures. Her ideal family will appreciate both outdoor activities and quiet time together. A fenced yard would be wonderful but is not required; she is thriving in an apartment and is comfortable with elevators and stairs.
She is friendly with dogs and children of all ages and can happily be the only dog. She previously lived with male and female dogs and preferred the calmer male. She may initially become excited when meeting dogs but settles quickly. Cats have not been tested inside the home; she has shown only mild interest in outdoor cats, so slow introductions and initial separation with baby gates are required if cats are present.
Ongoing Health
The $575 adoption cost includes age-appropriate vaccinations, spay surgery, microchipping, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, and necessary veterinary care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Cricket is kennel trained, potty trained, and leash trained. She is comfortable being left loose without accidents or destructive behavior, sleeps on a dog bed, and signals when she needs to go outside. She knows sit, shake, and down, walks well on leash, and can be redirected with treats and verbal correction when distracted by another dog.
