A little about them
Buddy, also known as Boogie, is a sweet, playful, high-energy young adult who loves people and canine companions. He has settled well since arriving in Wisconsin from Texas and is looking for an active family with time to help him continue learning.
Buddy is a strong leash puller and can be mouthy during play. He may guard food or toys around other animals, so he eats in his crate. He enjoys having his own space but does not like being confined for long. He has only chewed his toys and understands that people’s belongings are off-limits.
Ideal Home
Buddy would do best with:
- An active family with time for training and plenty of exercise
- A securely fenced yard and room to run
- Children age 14 or older, because he is large, bouncy, and mouthy when playing
- No cats, as he wants to play roughly with them and does not yet understand their boundaries
- Another playful dog may be a good match; Buddy enjoys canine company and loves to initiate play
Training & Support
Buddy is smart and eager to learn. His foster mom has taught him to give paw, and he is learning “no” and the routines of a home. He needs continued leash training and regular opportunities to go outside, as he does not signal when he needs to potty. He has free roam of the house at night and usually chooses to sleep with his foster mom.
