I am Misty Mae! A 38lb Retriever, Spaniel, and Carolina Dog mix with an estimated birthday of May 14, 2023. My journey began when I was rescued from a gas station, and I'm making the most of this wonderful second chance at life.

My foster family describes me as a fantastic houseguest. I'm already housebroken and kennel trained, and I thrive on a good routine. I'm also quite intelligent and food-motivated, which makes me eager to learn new things – especially if there are snacks involved! One of my favorite pastimes is simply being with my people, whether we're out for a walk, running errands, or just enjoying quiet time at home. While I have a playful spirit, I'm equally content to soak up affection and relax in your company. When I first arrived in foster care, I was a bit timid, but with patience, love, and a safe environment, my confidence has blossomed. It's been so rewarding to discover how wonderful life can be when you feel secure. I get along well with small dogs and appreciate slow introductions to new canine friends. Larger dogs can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming for me, so I'm hoping for a family who understands and can support me with this. Ideal Home

I get along well with small dogs and appreciate slow introductions when meeting new canine friends. Larger dogs can sometimes feel a little overwhelming for me, so I'd love a family that understands that.

I am kennel and potty trained. I am food-motivated and eager to learn, making me a great candidate for continued training.

Transporation

I am located in Houston, TX. Transportation is included in the adoption fee and can be arranged to your location or a nearby state. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360 and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
