Goldie may take time to warm up to new people and needs a patient family who will let her build confidence at her own pace. She has made wonderful progress in foster care and enjoys getting outside, exploring, and spending time with her people.
Ideal Home
- A patient, kind, and committed family comfortable continuing positive-reinforcement training
- A home without another dog is preferred; Goldie has met dogs successfully away from home but may be vocal when they enter her space
- She has met cats on walks without issue, though she may alert animals entering her yard
- Children are a good match based on her foster experience
- A smoke-free home is preferred because she appears sensitive to cigarette smoke
- A family willing to help her gradually learn that being alone is safe and temporary
Ongoing Health
Goldie was recently spayed and has finished nursing. She currently eats Royal Canin and is ready to transition from puppy food.
Training & Support
Goldie sleeps through the night, knows some commands using voice and hand signals, and is motivated by training treats. She is becoming more comfortable with household sounds and objects, including mops, vacuums, and brooms. She currently walks best with one foster-family member and will need continued positive reinforcement to walk comfortably with others. Her secure harness, which works well for her, will go home with her.
Goldie has had limited experience being alone and has barked and shredded cardboard boxes when left. Her family should introduce alone time gradually and positively.
