Himari is a 10-month-old, approximately 22 lb female Terrier mix with a heart full of love to give! She was born at the shelter after her pregnant mother was rescued. Himari is a sweet, affectionate, and playful girl who is learning to trust people. She can be a little shy and nervous around new faces, but once she warms up, she’s incredibly loving. Himari is very active and enjoys running and playing with her dog friends.
Ideal Home
Himari would thrive in a home with families who have an open mind about the needs of rescued animals and understand that they require protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies, is essential. It's important to realize that Himari may have been traumatized before her rescue and will need time to adjust to a new environment.
Ongoing Health
Himari is up-to-date on her vaccinations, including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A spay/neuter certificate and health certificate are included.
Training & Support
Himari is not yet house-trained and will need a family committed to working on this. She will also benefit from consistent positive reinforcement training to help build her confidence and continue her socialization. Patience and understanding are key as she settles into her new home.

Transportation
Himari is currently fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on her next cross-country trip. A transportation fee of $400 will be paid by the adopter prior to departure, and the service will be provided by a transport company. Delivery will be to the adopter's home address.
