A little about them
Meet Blue, a loyal, goofy, and affectionate five-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix. This medium-sized, 55-pound dog has a sleek black coat with white accents and loves biking, beach adventures, fetch, tug-of-war, running, sunbathing, and cuddling.
Ideal Home
Blue would thrive in a calm, predictable, low-traffic home with experienced, patient caregivers. He should be the only pet, as he is not compatible with cats and can be selective and reactive around other dogs, especially near his trusted person. He has bitten two dogs that approached too closely while he was with his guardian. Blue has bonded lovingly with a child, but he would do best without young children because high-energy and loud environments can overwhelm him. A fenced yard or regular access to outdoor activity is important.
Ongoing Health
Blue is currently on a fish-based diet for his allergy needs and receives a yearly allergy shot to help keep him comfortable.
Training & Support
Blue is house-trained, crate-trained, food-motivated, and familiar with sit, stay, come, paw, and spin. He thrives on routine and will need continued positive-reinforcement training and behavior management. A two-week boarding training program with a professional trainer will be covered before placement, followed by a personalized training plan and continued trainer support.
