A little about them
Peanut is a playful, athletic Chihuahua mix who is ready to become a loyal adventure companion. Rescued from a hoarding situation in Houston, he has flourished in foster care and is learning how to be part of a family. He enjoys toys, chase, other dogs, and following his people around.
Peanut can be unsure around new people, unfamiliar places, and leash walks, but he is sweet, smart, and eager to connect. With patience, structure, positive reinforcement, and plenty of exercise, he is continuing to make wonderful progress.
Ideal Home
Peanut would do best with:
- An active individual or family committed to consistency, structure, and training
- Teens or older children, preferably age 15+, or an adult-only home
- A friendly, patient dog companion, though another dog is not required
- An adopter who understands that he is still learning
- Plenty of exercise, enrichment, love, and adventure
He has not been tested with cats.
Ongoing Health
Peanut is a neutered male Chihuahua mix weighing 20 pounds. He was rescued from a hoarding situation and has experienced some anxiety, so patience and a consistent routine will help him continue building confidence.
Training & Support

He is still working on house training and is not yet ready for free roam when left alone because he enjoys investigating and chewing items within reach.
