Diggie Doodlebug Hoverfluff looks like a miniature Chewbacca, all scruffy grey fur, tiny paws, and a perfect button nose! This Shih Tzu mix is estimated to be around 4 years old and is a sensitive soul who forms deep attachments with his people. He's a bit of a muppet when his fur grows out, and we think he's absolutely adorable either way! Diggie is playful, intelligent, and full of personality once he feels comfortable and safe. He has a blast with his toys and loves to dramatically burrow through dog beds. He's already living successfully with cats and can do well with calm, easygoing dogs after slow introductions. Diggie's foster describes him as having a soft temperament, even in new or stressful situations. Once he trusts you, he's ready to handle a busy lifestyle and enjoys going on adventures!
Ideal Home
Diggie would truly thrive in a home with children, as he adores them. He also needs a home with a secure yard where he can continue building his confidence with leash walking, as he's still working on this skill.
Ongoing Health
Diggie is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, and flea prevention. He has also received a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has been microchipped with free lifetime registration.
Training & Support
Diggie is not currently leash trained, so a patient adopter who can continue his training in a secure yard is essential. He also finds crates stressful, and his foster has not needed to use one, as he is trustworthy in the home. Diggie is a "relationship-first" dog and takes time to warm up, so an adopter willing to let him settle in at his own pace will be rewarded with a funny, loving, and toy-obsessed companion.
