Lou Loomie is a lovable Lab/Australian Cattle Dog mix with wonderfully oversized ears, an affectionate personality, and a balanced, easygoing nature. Approximately 7 months old and weighing about 33 pounds, Lou enjoys walks, backyard time, relaxing at home, and being close to his people. He is playful but calm, food-motivated, and eager to learn.
Ideal Home
Lou is dog friendly and can live with confident adult dogs who can help him learn appropriate boundaries. He would also be happy as an only dog. An experienced, semi-active family with a backyard, consistent routines, and clear boundaries would be a wonderful match. Cats and children under 8 are listed as compatible.
Ongoing Health
Lou's adoption fee includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella and rabies vaccines, deworming, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injection, heartworm testing and treatment if needed, spay/neuter, a microchip with lifetime registration, and a travel health certificate.
Training & Support
Lou is crate trained and relaxes after briefly protesting when left. He is successful with potty training about 85% of the time and benefits from frequent breaks and a consistent schedule. Treats are his favorite motivation, and positive reinforcement should help him continue learning quickly. Continued crate training, structure, routine, and clear expectations will support his progress.
