Sansa is a sweet and playful 10-month-old Chihuahua-Cocker Spaniel mix, weighing around 10 lbs. She was surrendered to our care but remains a happy and loving pup, eager to find her forever family. Sansa is crate trained and does her business outdoors. She gets along wonderfully with cats, other dogs, and people of all ages. While she might bark at new people initially, it's just her way of being alert, and she warms up quickly with a little reassurance. Sansa is affectionate and enjoys playtime, and would thrive in a home that offers consistent love and guidance to help her feel confident and secure.
Ideal Home
Sansa would do best in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. She needs a family that is genuinely committed to rescuing a dog, understanding the needs of street animals for protection and education. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer to support this intelligent dog. A high level of patience and tolerance is essential, as she is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Sansa has received a comprehensive health protocol, including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, and microchipping. She has also tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. She is on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention with Nexgard Spectra.
Training & Support
Sansa is not house-trained and will require dedicated training and patience from her new family. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may have anxieties from past experiences and need time to adjust. Providing a safe, loving environment, establishing a routine, and setting clear boundaries will help her build trust and feel secure.

Transportation
Sansa is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is available for transport to the East Coast on our cross-country trips. A transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. Our transport process includes scheduled trips, a contracted transport company, all necessary legal and health documentation (including a USDA Health Certificate), and real-time updates through a private Facebook Messenger group. The transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
