Gunner is a 3-year-old, 50-pound, black and tan hound mix who was rescued from a rural dog pound. He's a good boy who is crate-trained and comes when called. Gunner enjoys car rides, knows how to sit for treats, and walks nicely on a leash. He tolerates baths well and loves to be petted and showered with affection. Gunner gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing with toys and treats. Due to the Texas heat, he prefers to spend his days lounging on the couch in the air conditioning, venturing outside for short periods to play with his friends before returning to his cool indoor haven.
Ideal Home
Gunner is a hound who loves to chase squirrels and will bark at people and animals passing by. He's also known to counter-surf and raid the garbage if cabinets aren't secured.
Ongoing Health
Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.
Training & Support
Gunner needs work on his counter-surfing and garbage raiding habits. Securing cabinets with baby locks and keeping him occupied with toys can help manage these behaviors.
