Macy is a smart, energetic, strong, and affectionate six-year-old American Bulldog/Terrier mix with plenty of potential. She is goofy, playful, adventurous, and loves couch naps, belly rubs, kisses, bones, hiking, car rides, and spending time beside her person.
Ideal Home
Macy needs an active, patient family with larger-dog experience and no young children. She is not suited to apartment living. She is selective with people and dogs, protective of her home, and should be introduced to new people and dogs slowly and carefully. She should not be approached quickly by unfamiliar people, especially while sleeping or confined. She is reactive toward dogs while walking, though she may enjoy hiking near a familiar dog with time and patience.
Ongoing Health
Macy becomes very frightened and anxious during veterinary examinations, vaccinations, and other procedures and must be muzzled even when sedated. Her adoption fee includes vaccines, flea prevention treatment, spay/neuter, and microchipping.
Training & Support
Macy is crate-trained and housebroken, with no accidents in her crate. She knows several basic commands, can sit and wait for her food, and is not possessive of food or toys. She pulls strongly on walks and needs continued training, structure, patience, and opportunities to exercise her energy.
