Hazel is a sweet, loving female Feist mix weighing 23 pounds. She enjoys adventures, car rides, toys, couch cuddles, and cozy days at home. Once she warms up—usually almost immediately—she loves people wholeheartedly and is ready to find her forever family.

Ideal Home

Hazel loves dogs of all sizes and has met cats; with the right introduction, she may happily live with other furry friends. She can be briefly shy when meeting someone new, so a home with older children may be the best fit. She is playful, fun, happy to share her toys, and has a wonderful medium energy level.

Ongoing Health

Hazel is heartworm positive and is currently on the slow-kill protocol. The rescue can explain the process to interested applicants. She can enjoy regular activities, and heartworm disease is contracted from infected mosquitoes and cannot be transmitted to another dog.

Training & Support

Hazel is house trained and crate trained. She has completed a board-and-train program and has excellent leash manners, a solid recall, and knows place and stay. She sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate and is a fantastic car rider.
