Meet Gigi!
After three years on the streets and more litters than any dog should have to raise, Gigi is still the picture of soft, gentle sweetness. This beagle mix weighs in around 35 pounds and has a quiet, observant nature. She's good with people but a little shy at first, which is understandable given her past. Give her a moment, and she'll settle in, leaning into kindness as if she's been waiting for it.
She's excellent with other dogs and finds great comfort in their presence, so a home with a canine companion would be ideal for her. However, survival instincts don't just switch off overnight. Gigi is a flight risk, making a securely fenced yard a non-negotiable requirement. This means a solid, actual fence, not just supervision or a tie-out. She's resourceful and knows how to leave, so safety is paramount.
What Gigi needs now is the opposite of her past: stability, patience, and a safe home where she can learn to simply be someone's cherished dog.
Gigi is incredibly dog-friendly, affectionate towards adults, beautifully house-trained, sleeps in her crate without a peep, and is not afraid of storms. While she doesn't harbor animosity towards children, she does startle easily, and her immediate reaction is to flee. Therefore, she'd do best in a home with teenagers and older.
