Baloo

Baloo is an approximately 5-year-old, 33 lb male Bull Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit. He's waited patiently for a family to call his own and is now ready to travel to his new home! Baloo is incredibly affectionate and cherishes human companionship. While he might be a little shy when he first meets new people, it doesn't take long for his true cuddly nature to shine through. He loves visitors and is happiest when showered with kindness. He’s great with other dogs, children, men, and women, and is very respectful of other dogs' food. Baloo is house-trained for the yard and can hold it indoors. He knows how to use a crate but finds confinement distressing, so a home where he doesn't need to be crated is ideal. Baloo is nervous during car rides and does not yet know how to walk on a leash, but with patience and gentle training, he's smart and eager to please. He may chew on toys when stressed or bored, especially during fireworks, and can be vocal when hungry, but he's otherwise a joyful, playful, and funny companion. Baloo is a faithful, grateful, obedient, and loving dog looking for a chance at a better life.

Ideal Home

A home with a securely fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Baloo needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and understand the needs of rescued animals, and ideally, someone with experience in dog behavior and training or a willingness to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for a rescued dog are essential. A home where he does not need to be crated is preferred.

Ongoing Health

Baloo is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. He has been dewormed and tested negative for heartworm, with a 4DX test and certificate provided. He receives monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

Baloo is house-trained for the yard but is not house-trained indoors. He does not know how to walk on a leash and becomes nervous during car rides. He may chew on toys when stressed or bored. He can be vocal when hungry. Baloo is smart and eager to please, and with patience and gentle training, he has great potential to improve in these areas.

• If it’s a match, we’ll arrange a call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 references.
• Upon approval, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Transporation

Baloo is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel. Transportation to the East Coast is available through a partnered transport company, with door-to-door delivery. A transport fee of $400 USD applies.
