A little about them
Misses Buttersworth, affectionately known as “Granny,” is a sweet senior Dachshund mix who has perfected the art of enjoying life’s simple pleasures: cozy beds, naps, snacks, and being close to her people. She is affectionate with men and women, quiet, gentle, and wonderfully laid-back.
At approximately 22.6 pounds, Granny is a petite black-and-white girl with classic Dachshund features. She is happiest relaxing nearby while her people go about their day and does not need a busy or highly active lifestyle.
Ideal Home
Granny would thrive in a calm, comfortable home where she can enjoy her golden years with plenty of affection and companionship. She currently lives successfully with cats, though she may occasionally give chase briefly. Thoughtful introductions and supervision are recommended with new feline companions.
She is deaf or extremely hard of hearing, so visual cues, movement, and floor vibrations are helpful when getting her attention. Approaching where she can see you can help prevent startling her.
Ongoing Health
Her adoption fee includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella and rabies vaccines, deworming, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative, heartworm testing and treatment if needed, spay/neuter, a microchip with lifetime registration, and a health certificate for travel.
Training & Support
Granny settles in a crate and remained mostly quiet after some initial heavy panting. At home, she is content snoozing in her dog bed. She has not shown separation anxiety and does not need constant entertainment.
Her adoption also includes a Martingale collar, behavioral information from trainers, and access to additional training and adopter support resources.
