About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs and is estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She's a delightful blend of sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining, with a quirky charm that will have you laughing daily. Coraline's favorite game is peek-a-boo, and she expresses her playful spirit in gentle, funny ways. She's deeply people-oriented and loves to be near her humans, following them like a shadow without being overly clingy. Her subtle ways of showing affection, like puppy kisses or resting a paw on your leg, will melt your heart. Coraline has a wonderfully calm and balanced temperament, making her an excellent work-from-home buddy. She's happy entertaining herself with toys or a chew bone. She's also incredibly social with people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before continuing her play or exploration. Coraline is the perfect mix of playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive – your little sidekick, shadow, and best friend all in one.
Ideal Home
Coraline is a low to medium energy pup who enjoys short bursts of play and zoomies. She's more on the laid-back side but her energy may increase as she gets older. She would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation, from leisurely walks and cozy evenings on the couch to hikes and beach trips. She loves puzzle toys, treat-dispensing games, squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys. Coraline would benefit from a family that understands she is not yet confident in busy public areas, but with more exposure and socialization, she has the potential to be the best outdoor adventure buddy. A home with a fenced yard is a must for her to run and play. She needs her human home more often than not, but doggy daycare a few days a week would be acceptable. No apartments or condos due to her size and potential nervousness in busy areas.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and has received any necessary veterinary care while in the rescue's care.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She is still working on mastering leash training and gaining confidence on walks, but she is very treat-motivated and will walk beside you with positive reinforcement. She alerts her foster when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a doggy door. She needs to be taken out every 3-4 hours initially and kept on a consistent schedule. A doggy doorbell can be helpful to teach her to notify you when she needs to go out.
