Darcy

Darcy is a sweet 17 lb, four-year-old Schnauzer mix who came to us when her previous owner sadly passed away. Her siblings were surrendered, and our rescue team stepped in to bring Darcy and three of her littermates into our care when they didn't find their forever homes through public adoption. Darcy has been living in a foster home with three other dogs and has truly blossomed. She's housebroken and crate-trained, although she can sometimes be a bit of a Houdini when it comes to her crate! She's also making great progress with her leash walking skills. Darcy is a fantastic companion who loves car rides, snuggling up with her human at night, and is a perfect lady when dining out at restaurants.

Ideal Home

Darcy is a social butterfly who adores her people and forms strong bonds quickly, especially with her female companions. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs but would also be happy to be the sole canine queen of her castle, provided a family member is usually home. She needs a single-family home with a securely fenced yard. It's important that there are no items like garbage cans or chairs near the fence that could be used for climbing, as Darcy has a talent for escaping. We're hoping to find her a home in the Orange County area.

Ongoing Health

Darcy is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Darcy is housebroken and crate-trained, but can be an escape artist and may try to get out of her crate. She is working on her leash walking skills and may initially howl for a bit when left alone as she adjusts to her new environment. We have not tested Darcy with children, and she will likely chase cats.
